Sputnik in the NYT

Happy anniversary, Sputnik. Has it really been half a century?

A few days ago, the New York Times Science section was devoted entirely to space travel in honor of the heavenly traveling companion’s 50th. The beautiful interactive-graphics and other multimedia content (like an mp3 of the “sound of the Sputnik”) are reason enough to grab a look before it’s all taken down, but there are also some interesting speculations about the future of space travel that are worth reading.

Run, don’t walk.
